The BCCI has said that the IPL 2020 season will be played in the United Arab Emirates this year.

The schedule of IPL 2020 has also been announced. The 13th edition of Indian Premier League will start on  19th September 2020 and it will be played till 10th November 2020.

In the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League, the first half of the IPL matches were shifted to UAE because the general elections were conducted in India. The second half of the 2014 IPL season was completed in India.

The IPL was set to be played in March, but due to the world pandemic of COVID 19, the matches had to postpone, and many cricket series and tournaments were also canceled. Now BCCI has said that the 13th season of the IPL will be hosted in UAE. The government has approved this decision to host the IPL in UAE.

Top 7 Records of IPL when the 2014 Season was played in the United Arab Emirates –

  • Most wins in IPL in UAE – Kings XI Punjab holds this record of winning the most matches when the 2014 IPL season was played in the United Arab Emirates. Under the leadership of George Bailey, The Kings XI Punjab’s team had won 5 out of 5 matches that were played in UAE.
  • Most Runs scored in UAE – The Aussie batsman who scored the most runs in IPL matches played in the UAE is Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell has thrilled to hear this news. In the IPL 2014 edition, Maxi had scored 300 runs when the matches were played in UAE.

Sandeep Sharma, the fast bowler from Kings Xi Punjab, had bowled the most maiden over in the 2014 IPL season when the tournament was played in UAE. He bowled two maidens over against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
